Jagmeet Singh – NDP Leader – Ottawa 18.06.2020

I had the pleasure today of meeting the head of the NDP Party, Jagmeet Singh. The 30 seconds or so that I had with him was more than enough to let him know that I appreciate his work on our behalf.

Today was a great reminder to check your camera settings before you start. I had reset my camera to default the day before and jpgs with an sRGB profile was not what I had in mind. Seems that after almost 37 years of taking photographs that I still screw up. Oh well. On the plus side, I did meet Mr. Singh.

George Floyd Changed the World

I originally had a post on this site called “All Lives Matter” which I deleted. It seems that to some, this post may have been interpreted as a negative when there’s nothing negative about it. I also had a link on this post to photographs of people of colour, perhaps my need to show that I care and to self-validate. The truth is I’ve always cared.

I firmly believe that groups and communities may be required at this time to create change. Fair enough. I also believe that groups in themselves can at times further segregate all of us. It’s a fine line.

I apologize for removing photographs that some might have come here to see.

Thanks for reading.

Missing Our Soldiers

Reconciliation Monument - Ottawa, Canada
Reconciliation Monument – Ottawa 22.05.2020

One of the reasons I took this photograph is because our soldiers are no longer protecting the tomb of our Unknown Soldier at Canada’s National War Memorial. Perhaps another casualty of the corona virus.

As a Canadian, I won’t tell you what’s right or wrong but the soldiers that protect the tomb of the Unknown Soldier do so with incredible pride. They realize that the tomb and the National War Memorial represent this great nation, it’s ideals, it’s passions and it’s people.

Today and since the onset of the corona virus, many have fallen and many will remain unknown. Some however will be remembered as soldiers with all of the qualities of Canada’s finest. To the Canadian people the missing sentries are much more than a tourist attraction and now more than ever need to be present.

Waiting for Google

Young Covid protestor - Ottawa
Young Covid protestor – Ottawa 05.16.2020

This is pretty much a “Buyer Beware” piece. A few months ago I managed to get my old domain name back after it being held hostage by a re-selling company. When the domain finally became available at a regular price, I snatched it up. Little did I know that the previous owner of my domain was a spammer.

As it stands, whatever I post and my 1 Youtube video are blocked by Google. Fortunately I have very little listed on this domain at this time. I wait patiently ( well perhaps not that patiently ) for Google to get back to me and correct the problem. So before you buy a domain name make sure that it hasn’t been blocked for whatever reason.

Thanks for reading.
